Just to remind you, we do recommend that anyone following the ITG Diet, especially at the beginning with Step 1, try to cut back on the intensity level of workouts. When your body starts going into light ketosis, you may have some fatigue, grogginess, or lower energy levels. This varies from person to person.

When your body is depleting all the stored glycogen in the muscles and the rest of the body over the first few days (because you are no longer taking in as many carbs and sugars as before), it will go into fat burning mode. Your body must get used to running off of stored fat instead of glycogen in the system, so usually we say to be cautious with intense exercise over the first few weeks. Eventually you can build back up to the original intensity that you are used to.

If you do work out, definitely go ahead and have an extra packet per day, or have your Limited item an hour or two before your workout to get some carbs in your system for some extra energy. Eat more protein for dinner, which will be used to repair muscle tissue after workouts. Just remember that if you make too many adjustments to the plan, we will not always be able to assess what might be wrong if by chance you aren't losing weight.
